We have several committees that parents can get involved in, in any capacity. All committees report to the Board and each committee has direct contact with the President or Vice President(s) to work along side of. We are always looking for members to join each committee and chairs. Please contact us if you are interested in any of the committees.

DECORATING

  In charge of changing out the bulletin board every month using a pre-approved list of themes.  You would also set up the 'Welcome Back' decorations for the 1st day of Summer and the end-of-year decorations in June.  Time commitment is once a month plus the first & last day of school.      Danielle Ringenary
           

APPAREL

  In charge of working with a vendor to develop and design a list of spirit-wear items to sell throughout the year, including Open House, Back-to-School Night, and other HSA/school related events.  Work closely with other volunteers to advertise different products and keep track of sales.   This includes field day shirts sales in the spring.      Jennifer Lewis & Shannon Croes
           

  You would be responsible for organizing 3 events throughout the year.  The playground social in August, the Fall social in October, and the end-of-year celebration in May/June.  Communicate with families by creating flyers/emails to be distributed for each event.  Contact vendors and purchase refreshments for each event.                                                         Jaclynn Laino & Rachel Henner
           
  You will be the point of contact for all of the sub-committees of the 5th Grade (including Give Back, T-shirts, Picnic, Video Montage, Yearbook, & Talent Show).  Responsible for updating the HSA Board at the bi-monthly meetings. You are responsible for putting together the Turkey Bowl (normally the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.)  Communicating with 5th grade families regarding end-of-year activities such as College Settlement Camp and Promotion.     Jennifer Kosoy & Need (1) Co-chairs
           

HOSPITALITY

  Work with the HSA Board to organize staff on a monthly basis as well as a full week of refreshments for 'Teacher Appreciation Week' in May.  You would be responsible for reaching out to vendors, obtaining pricing, and reporting back to the Board.  You would be given a budget to work with for the year.      Laurie Bellano
           

SPIRIT NIGHTS

  Contact different establishments throughout the school year to set-up Dine & Donates on specific pre-determined calendar dates.  Develop flyers and social media posts to advertise to the Simmons families.  Responsible for picking up donation checks and forwarding to the HSA Treasurer for deposit.      Laurie Bellano & Madison Todd
           

  Be in charge of helping to organize and advertise for trunks to participate as well as developing a flyer and social media post to promote the event.  You would also choose a movie to play during the event.  You would be responsible for collecting donated candy, organizing volunteers and purchasing concessions to sell during the event.      Nicole Shriver & Renee Varallo
           

   Organize logistics with our vendor, "Run the Day", as well as contacting the township and facilities department to fill out any necessary paperwork.  Organize volunteers for the different sub-committees.  Collect donations and sponsorships and well as designing and ordering t-shirts for all participants.      Biz Parker & Vince Varallo
           

 WALK-A-THON

  Organize and distribute flyers for students to fundraise.  Collect donations.  Run the school-wide Pep Rally the day of the Walk-a-Thon as well as taking pictures during the event.  Provide refreshments to the classes after they have completed the event.     Need (1) Chair
           

5K FUNDRAISING

  Contact community businesses for donations to the event as well as sponsorships.  Put together a letter for distribution as well as making calls and stopping by places of business to follow-up.     Need (2) Co-chairs
           

 5K FOOD

  Develop a list of food and drinks needed for the event.  Shop and deliver food for the 5K as well as distributing the day of the event.      Laurie Bellano

  In charge of organizing the "All for Books Coin Drive" as well as helping to set-up and break down the actual fair.  Work collaboratively to develop a theme and decorate the fair.  Assist throughout the week of the fair and organize volunteers if necessary.  You would work on STREAM night to facilitate sales and run the register.  Help with placing re-orders through Scholastic as necessary during the fair.      Amy Blau, Janine Carey, & Renee Kerber
           

 FAMILY DANCE

  Take charge in organizing and advertising the family dance, normally held in the winter.  You would be responsible for organizing volunteers to help and decorate.  You would need to book a DJ and handle any refreshments for the event.      Ashley Miller & Jackie Vileikis
           
    Advertise for instructors to teach a class one day a week for 4 weeks.  Develop a class schedule and prices for each class along with class sizes.  Organize volunteers to help each day during Discovery Time, which is held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for 4 weeks towards the end of Winter.  Fill out necessary paperwork for payment to instructors and work with facilities and Mrs. Kanter to establish room availability for each class.      Janine Carey & Chelsey Staub & Need (2) Co-chairs - shadowing only this year
           

FAMILY FUNDRAISERS

  In charge of organizing and advertising for different family fundraisers throughout the year.  You would need to speak with vendors and handle any refreshments for the event.  Time committment is approximately 2 to 3 times for the year total.     Need (1) Chair     
           

1ST & 2ND GR.

  Responsible for running 3 practices on the pre-determined rehearsal dates (which can be found on the event calendar) as well as the final performance show.  You will be in charge of organizing volunteers to help with your rehearsals and the show.  You will need to coordinate to sell concessions during the performance and collaborate on the show's program.  This is a 4-day commitment spread over 2 weeks total.     Need (1) Chair
           

3RD & 4TH GR.

 BINGO

 SPRING FAIR GAMES

   Volunteer would be responsible for preparing the games to use for the spring fair by checking for any needed repairs of old games, making those repairs, and purchasing any items needed for the games to be used. The volunteer would also be responsible for overseeing setup and breakdown on the day of the fair as well as supervising / organizing game volunteers during the hours of the spring fair. Commitment is mostly for part of the day before the fair and the entire day of the fair.      Renee Kerber & Erica Bane
           

SPRING FAIR FOOD

   Volunteers would be responsible for ordering, purchasing, and procuring the food and drinks on the menu and all the plates, napkins, etc. They would be responsible for setting up and breaking down the food tables on the day of the fair as well as supervising the high school volunteers running the line and the registers. Commitment is mostly a few hours the night before the event and the entire day of the event from setup to breakdown. Shopping time the week of the event is required, and some prepping / cooking of taco meat the night before the event may be requested.       Laurie Bellano & Ally Warden
           

 

SPRING FAIR RAFFLE BASKETS

  Help to create one of the highlights of Spring Fair. The Spring Fair Raffle Basket Sub Committee develops the unique basket themes, gathers the donations from each classroom, assembles the amazing baskets, and helps run ticket sales on the day of Spring Fair. Commitment starts a month or two before the event (for co-chairs) to organize ideas, and it requires multiple hours from each committee member to pull together about 23 (+/-) baskets in all.       Susan Wilkins & Maureen Cebular

SPRING FAIR KID GAME PRIZE RAFFLES

   Volunteers would be responsible for making purchases of prizes for the kids' games. Prizes need to have variety for different ages and interests, and the purchases must be made on a budget. Volunteers also photograph the prizes and apply the images to the kid prize raffle bins. Commitment is a few hours of shopping and a few hours of printing the photos and prepping the raffle bins.      Need (1) Chair    
           

GARDEN BRICKS

  Responsible for developing a flyer to send out towards the end of the year for brick sales.  Work with vendor and facilities to determine number of bricks available each year.  Collect sales forms and forward all information to necessary contacts.      Nina Mussari
           

 INCENTIVES

  Organize volunteers to come up with different incentives for the school to participate in. Currently, this would be 'Box Tops for Education'.  Responsible for collecting grocery receipts from the drop-box in the school lobby at least once a week and scan them in using your phone.  Each volunteer would need the 'Box Tops' app on their phone as well.  You would also be responsible for sending social media reminders to the Board to be posted on a regular basis.  This committee is a continuous year-round endeavor but can be done on your own time as long as it is done consistently.  The receipts are only valid for 14 days after purchase date, so getting them scanned in as soon as possible by the volunteers on a rotating basis would be best.      Need (1) Chair    
           

ASSEMBLIES

  Be in charge of helping to organize a few assemblies or learning experiences throughout the school year. It would be your responsibility to develop a proposed list of assemblies based on a given budget, then work with Mrs. Kanter to finalize the topics and select dates for each event.  Approximately one assembly per trimester.      Kelly Snyder
