Discovery Time Teachers Needed

It's that time of year again!  The Simmons Elementary HSA is preparing to run Discovery Time, an after school extracurricular program during the month of February that makes an assortment of clubs and classes available to students.  We hope you will consider sharing your interests and hobbies with the students as a Discovery Time teacher this winter!

Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 

Time:  3:30 to 5:00 PM

Dates:  Feb 3rd to Feb 26th, with make up classes in case of snow the first week of March

Responsibilities: Facilitate engaging activities, bring supplies, check students in and out of the class 

Compensation: A nominal fee of $20 per student divided among teachers and reimbursement for supplies (with receipt) is available; if small businesses (i.e. Mad Science and Code Ninjas) have set program fees, please include that in the survey 

In recent years, the kids have enjoyed field hockey, volleyball, arts and crafts, illustrations, forensics, knitting, friendship bracelet making, karate, coding, science and so much more!  

If you are interested, please complete the survey linked here before December 10th.  We will reach out with additional questions and confirm the schedule with you before the Winter Break.
